What is Maya Abdominal Therapy?

These centuries old techniques were brought to the western world by Dr. Rosita Arvigo who studied with world renowned shaman, Don Elijio Panti. These specific techniques are used to help align & reposition organs, as well as to increase blood flow to the gut and to the entire pelvic region, effecting reproductive & digestive health.  Additionally, this work may well balance emotional health and promote overall functioning of the whole human body.

Mira is a massage therapist who brings together multiple therapies and specializes in women’s reproductive and digestive health.

Mira learned the healing arts from a very young age. As a young child she spent much of her time at the Esalen Institute, a spiritual healing retreat center in Big Sur, California,  where she was influenced by many healers and teachers of personal growth, who lived and worked there. She had great influence from her parents, who own and operate multiple spas, teach yoga, and are also massage therapists.

When Mira turned 18, she spent a gap year traveling in India. She studied meditation in Kerala, trained in energy healing in Dharamsala, and earned her first Yoga Teachers Certification (Sivananda). Since then, Mira has received a second Yoga Teacher’s Certificate, trained in Ji Gong, sound healing, and breathwork. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Hampshire College in Psycho-Somatic Practices Centered Within the Female Pelvis and trained as a birth doula, became a licensed massage therapist, and is certified in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® which supports digestive and women’s reproductive health. This includes fertility challenges, pelvic organ prolapses, pregnancy, painful menses, fibroids, and more.

With numerous skills, Mira combines her knowledge and experience to improve clients’ health and well-being.

Mira looks forward to sharing her passions, exuberant heart, and healing hands with you.
